Aaron Sarfatti has built a notable career in the insurance and financial services industries, fueled by his strong educational foundation and a series of strategic and leadership roles. He commenced his educational journey at Princeton University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Computer Science from January 1999 to January 2003.
Professional Beginnings at Oliver Wyman
Following his graduation from Princeton, Aaron entered the professional world with Oliver Wyman, a leading management consulting firm. He started as a consultant in July 2003, remaining in this role until December 2010. After demonstrating his capabilities and expertise, he ascended to the position of Partner at Oliver Wyman in January 2011, a role he held for over seven years until April 2018. During his tenure at Oliver Wyman, Aaron honed his skills in management consulting, business transformation, financial modeling, and strategy—skills that would serve as cornerstones in his subsequent roles.
Career Advancements at Equitable
In April 2018, Aaron made a significant career move to Equitable, one of America’s prominent financial services companies. Initially, he took on the role of Managing Director and Head of Strategy for Life, Retirement, and Wealth Management in Jersey City, New Jersey. His responsibilities quickly expanded, and by October 2018, he was appointed Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Chief Strategy Officer at Equitable's Charlotte, North Carolina office. In January 2024, Aaron advanced further to become the Head of Institutional Business and Inforce, while continuing to serve as Chief Strategy Officer at Equitable Holdings.
Contributions to National Financial Policy
Parallel to his work at Equitable, Aaron has also contributed to national financial policy. He has been actively involved with the Federal Reserve Board, serving as a Member of the Insurance Policy Advisory Committee (IPAC) from October 2019 until December 2023. In January 2024, he was promoted to Vice Chair of the committee. The IPAC provides crucial information, advice, and recommendations on domestic and international insurance issues.
