Education
In terms of education, Andrew has exceptional credentials. He earned a BA in Law from the University of Oxford, one of the world’s most prestigious universities, between 1994 and 1997. Following this, he pursued an MBA from INSEAD, a top global business school, completing his degree in 2007. These academic achievements laid a solid groundwork for his subsequent professional endeavors.
Early Career
Andrew's career is characterized by impressive achievements and a steady upward trajectory. His journey began as a Strategy Consultant at Gemini Consulting, where he led project streams for multinational clients, focusing on growth projects from 1997 to 2000. He then moved on to Peoplesound.com as the Business Development Director, where he was responsible for online marketing, business development, and strategic partnerships until 2002.
eBay and Bauer Media
From 2003 to 2006, Andrew served as the Head of Motors and Category Development at eBay in Australia. During this period, he played a pivotal role in driving the growth of eBay Motors and overseeing category development during a rapid expansion phase.
In 2007, he joined Bauer Media, initially as the Digital Director for the Lifestyle segment and later as the Founder and Managing Director of Cocosa.com, a flash-sale fashion eCommerce business. His leadership in these roles was instrumental in shaping the company's digital strategy and market presence.
Farfetch
One of Andrew's most notable accomplishments came during his tenure at Farfetch, starting in 2010. As the Chief Operating Officer, he oversaw various critical functions, including marketing, operations, international expansion, Private Client business, and customer strategy. Under his leadership, Farfetch grew exponentially and achieved a significant milestone by going public in a $6 billion IPO. By the time he left the company in 2020, he had helped build the team from 30 to over 3,000 and raised more than $700 million in funding before the IPO.
Part-time Roles and Board Memberships
In 2021, Andrew transitioned into several part-time roles, serving as a Non-Executive Director for multiple companies. These include 1stDibs, a leading online marketplace for design lovers, carwow, GetHarley, and Otrium. His expertise has been invaluable in shaping their strategic directions and contributing to their growth.
Venture Partner and Recent Board Roles
Additionally, he took on the role of Venture Partner at LocalGlobe, where he supports venture investment activities. In 2023, he further expanded his board roles by becoming the Chair at Twinkl Educational Publishing and a Non-Executive Director at the Ministry of Justice UK, where he focuses on digital transformation.
