Education and Certifications

Arthur's education laid a strong foundation for his career. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Transportation Management from the State University of New York Maritime College, equipping him with the technical knowledge required in the maritime sector. Furthering his qualifications, he underwent Executive Education at Harvard Business School, enhancing his leadership and management skills. He also holds a Merchant Marine License & Certification from the U.S. Coast Guard as a Master Mariner, enabling him to captain any size or type of vessel across international oceans.

Early Career

Arthur's professional journey commenced with hands-on roles in the maritime industry. From 1984 to 1995, he served as a Master Mariner and Deck Officer at Overseas Shipholding Group in New York. This role provided him with practical seagoing experience and a deep understanding of marine operations.

Transition to Leadership

Transitioning to leadership, Arthur joined Stentex LLC as Vice President of Commercial Operations & Chartering, where he served from 1998 to 2003 in both New York and Houston, TX. His career further advanced when he became the President and CEO of Arlington Tankers Ltd, a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, where he worked from 2004 to 2008 in Hamilton, Bermuda.

Strategic Roles

Arthur's strategic acumen was further recognized when he served as Director of Global Strategic Planning at Stena Bulk from 2008 to 2009. He then led Principal Maritime Management LLC as President, CEO, and Director from 2010 to 2015.

Role at Apollo Global Management LLC

In January 2015, Arthur took on the role of Operating Partner at Apollo Global Management LLC, where he was deeply involved in marine logistics and shipping investments. His work at Apollo, which lasted till August 2022, included originating, diligencing, arranging financing, and managing investments.

Executive Chairman at Chembulk Tankers LLC

He further stepped into the role of Executive Chairman of the Board at Chembulk Tankers LLC from August 2018 to August 2022, demonstrating his leadership in the tanker industry. Arthur also contributed to Genco Shipping & Trading Ltd., where he served as Chairman of the Board from 2016 to 2021 and remains a current Board member.

Currently, Arthur is the Chief Executive Officer at Energos Infrastructure Management LLC, based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The company is involved in the energy transition marine platform, focusing on Liquid Natural Gas Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs), floating storage vessel units, and LNG carriers.
