Early Career and Entrepreneurship
Young's career began in the consulting realm at Mercer Management Consulting, where he worked as an associate from 1994 to 1997. Following this, he ventured into entrepreneurship by co-founding Cyveillance in 1997, where he served as President and COO. This role marked his initial foray into the tech sector, setting the stage for a series of leadership positions.
Professional Journey
His professional journey continued with AOL, where he managed safety and security premium services from 2003 to 2004. Young then held a significant position at RSA, The Security Division of EMC, leading the RSA Products segment until 2010. Following this, he moved to VMware, overseeing the End User Computing segment for a year.
Cisco was Young's next major stop, where he directed the Security & Government Group until 2014. He then transitioned to Intel Corporation, managing its Intel Security Group until 2017. Notably, he served as the CEO of McAfee from 2017 to 2020, further solidifying his reputation in the cybersecurity domain.
Current Position
Currently, Christopher Young holds the position of Executive Vice President of Business Development, Strategy, and Ventures at Microsoft. In this role, he focuses on driving long-term growth through corporate strategy, strategic partnerships, and venture investments. Additionally, he contributes to corporate governance as a board member of American Express, a role he has held since 2018. Young also previously served on the board of Snap Inc. from 2016 to 2020.
