Clara E. Del Villar

Clara E. Del Villar has built an impressive career over multiple decades. Starting with her education, Clara pursued her studies at George Washington University, where she focused on Political Science and Government. She then moved on to Georgetown University, earning a degree in International Finance and Energy Economics from the School of Foreign Service. Early Career
 

Clara’s career began at Nomura Securities, where she was a founding member of the US Fixed Income Capital Markets Unit. Her role as Vice President in the Capital Markets Group spanned from 1986 to 1990. She then joined Neuberger Berman as Vice President of Portfolio Management and Private Asset Management. Here, she managed significant assets, totaling over $2.5 billion, and developed new business strategies.

 
Mid-Career Transition
 

In 2004, Clara transitioned to Nortel Networks, taking on the role of Vice President of Compliance and Ethics. Her responsibilities expanded across New York City, Brampton, and Toronto locations. She later co-founded In Energy Advisors, where she worked on energy technology consulting and business development.

 
Entrepreneurial Ventures
 

Clara’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to create Hispanic Post in 2011, a digital platform aimed at providing business opportunities and policy insights to the U.S. Hispanic community. She continued to expand her influence by participating as a broadcast media panelist on PBS’ To The Contrary from 2013 to 2018.

 
Recent Roles
 

In 2019, Clara joined FreedomWorks Foundation as the Director of Senior Initiatives and Retirement Readiness. During her tenure, she authored the Financial Freedom Toolkit, focusing on financial literacy and investment strategies.

Currently, Clara is the Founder and CEO of Schola Labs, an EdTech software company that unifies platforms for educational administrators. Additionally, she has served as a Board Director for General American Investors Co Fund since 2017, where she contributes to audit and pension committees.
