Starting as an analyst in 1988 and rising to the position of partner by 2000, he was heavily involved in the retail industry group. In 2005, Mullahy transitioned to Meijer, where he served as Group Vice President of Merchandising and Supply Chain Management. His success in these areas led him to his next opportunity at Ulta in 2011, where he took on the role of Senior Vice President. In 2013, Mullahy joined Michaels Stores, Inc., initially as the Senior Vice President of Growth Strategies and later progressing to Executive Vice President of Supply Chain and IT.
