Early Career at Morgan Stanley
Eileen began her career at Morgan Stanley in 1984, where she gained valuable experience in numerous roles including Controller, Treasurer, Chief Accounting Officer, and Chief Operating Officer of the Institutional Securities Group. Her long tenure at Morgan Stanley, which lasted until 2002, laid a strong foundation for her future endeavors in the financial world.
Tenure at Credit Suisse
In 2002, Eileen joined Credit Suisse as a Managing Director and a member of the Management Committee, where she worked until 2006. Her experience at Credit Suisse further solidified her expertise in asset management, corporate finance, and capital markets.
Subsequent Roles and Board Memberships
After Credit Suisse, Eileen took on roles at various other high-profile organizations. She became a Managing Director and Management Committee Member at Morgan Stanley for a brief period from 2006 to 2007. She also served as a Board Member at the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) from 2001 to 2005, and at Argonne National Laboratory from 2007 to 2012.
Bridgewater Associates
Among her most notable roles was her tenure as Co-Chief Executive Officer at Bridgewater Associates from 2009 to 2020. During her time at Bridgewater, she helped lead one of the world’s largest and most successful investment management firms.
Board Involvement and Non-Profit Service
Eileen’s experience extends beyond the financial services industry. She has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations such as the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU), Inwood House, YMCA of Greater New York, and Manhattan College. She has also been actively involved with the Irish Arts Center since 2016.
Recent Roles
More recently, Eileen has taken on advisory and board roles at various organizations. She has been a Senior Advisor at HumanityCorp since January 2020 and has joined the boards of companies like Broadridge, Guardian Life, and HSBC in 2020 and 2022.
Financial Industry Regulation
Additionally, Eileen has played a significant role in financial industry regulation. She served as the Chair of the Board of Governors at FINRA from 2020 to 2022 and was a member of the board from 2016 to 2020.
