Professional Beginnings
Jemma started her professional journey at Young & Rubicam in 1997, serving as a Manager in Internal Communications until 2003. This role marked the beginning of her extensive career in the communications sector. In January 2003, she joined Interpublic Group (IPG), one of the leading advertising and marketing companies globally. Throughout her tenure at IPG, Jemma has held several key positions, each time expanding her scope and influence within the company.
Career Progression
As Associate Director of Corporate Communications from 2003 to 2014, and subsequently as Associate Director of Strategy and Communications until 2014, Jemma honed her skills in corporate strategy and communications. She then transitioned to Director of Content Creation, a role she held until 2021. Here, she managed content for internal and external channels, spearheading numerous corporate social responsibility and sustainability initiatives, including GRI-compliant reporting and the adoption of UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Leadership Roles
In March 2021, Jemma was appointed Vice President of Sustainability and Communications at IPG. In this capacity, she oversaw sustainability and corporate responsibility efforts, contributing to the company’s reputation as a leading entity in the advertising industry. Her achievements in this role included enhancing IPG's global sustainability practices and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Current Position
In September 2022, Jemma’s career reached a new milestone as she was promoted to Vice President, Chief Sustainability Officer at IPG. Based in New York City, she now leads the company's sustainability strategies and initiatives, ensuring that IPG remains at the forefront of corporate sustainability in the advertising sector.
