Mark Coleman, MD, has built a distinguished career in the field of medicine, with a particular focus on pain management and clinical operations. His educational journey began at Wesleyan University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Coleman pursued a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, one of the most prestigious medical schools in the country.

Dr. Coleman further specialized in pain management and anesthesiology through rigorous training. He completed an anesthesiology residency program at the University of California, San Francisco, and subsequently undertook a Pain Management Fellowship at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centres of New York. This extensive education set the foundation for his expertise in pain management.

Dr. Coleman also supplemented his medical education with coursework in finance, which he completed through Coursera. He earned certificates in Valuation: Alternative Methods and Introduction to Finance, enhancing his understanding of financial principles relevant to healthcare management.

 
Professional Experience

In terms of professional experience, Dr. Coleman has held various leadership roles. Since February 2023, he has been serving as the Director of Clinical Operations at National Spine & Pain Centers. In this role, he oversees the clinical services and ensures the efficient running of operations. His association with National Spine & Pain Centers spans several years, during which he has taken on roles such as Managing Partner & Medical Director at the Pikesville Office and President of Clinical Operations.

 
Involvement with Other Healthcare Organizations

In addition to his work at National Spine & Pain Centers, Dr. Coleman is involved with other healthcare organizations. He is a member of the Board of Directors at Enalare Therapeutics Inc. (since January 2021) and Axsome Therapeutics, Inc. (since January 2015), contributing his expertise to guide these companies.
