Professional Journey at Merrill Lynch
Marlene began her professional journey at Merrill Lynch, where she held various leadership roles within the Global Treasury department from 1988. Over the years, she climbed the ranks to become the Assistant Treasurer from June 2007 to December 2008.
Transition to Bank of America
In January 2009, Marlene transitioned to Bank of America, taking on the role of Global Head of Liquidity Risk Management and Rating Agency Relations. She excelled in this position until June 2011, based in the Greater New York City Area.
Career at MetLife
Her journey continued at MetLife, where she initially served as the Executive Vice President (EVP) and Treasurer from June 2011 to July 2016. Demonstrating her prowess in financial and risk management, she went on to hold several key roles within MetLife. From July 2016 to March 2018, she was the EVP and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for U.S. Business. Following this, she became the EVP and Head of Retirement & Income Solutions until April 2019.
From May 2019 to September 2023, Marlene served as the EVP and Chief Risk Officer at MetLife in the Greater New York City Area. Her exceptional skills and dedication led her to her current role as the Chief Risk Officer and Head of MetLife Insurance Investments starting in September 2023.
Board Membership and Influence
In addition to her roles at MetLife, Marlene has been an active member of the Board of Directors for Raymond James since December 2020, further broadening her influence and leadership in the finance sector.
