Mauro Carobene, born in 1970, is a seasoned professional with a notable career in the software, IT, and telecommunications sectors. He started his academic journey at Liceo Scientifico Statale "L. Cremona" Milano, where he completed his high school education in 1988. Mauro went on to earn a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 1995, providing a strong foundation for his future endeavors.
Early Career
Mauro's career began as a Software Engineer at Italtel, where he worked from 1996 to 1998. He then joined Nokia in 1998 as an OSS Solutions Manager, a role he held until 2004, before advancing to become the East Med Sales Manager at Nokia. Mauro continued to climb the ranks in Nokia Siemens Networks, holding various key positions until 2011, including OSS/SW Sales Director and Head of OSS Integration Practice.
Executive Roles at Comptel
In 2011, Mauro transitioned to Comptel, where he held multiple executive roles such as Senior Vice President for the EMEA region, Chief Market Operations Officer, and ultimately, Chief Commercial Officer. His responsibilities included overseeing global sales strategies and execution, demonstrating his aptitude for managing complex business operations.
Entrepreneurial Ventures
Mauro then co-founded Squisini in 2015, a venture aimed at revolutionizing business lunch breaks in Milan. He remained involved until 2018. In May 2019, he joined DigitalRoute as Chief Revenue Officer and later served as Chief Commercial Officer, focusing on sales and delivery for telco and enterprise customers until October 2021.
Kaleyra and Industry Contributions
His journey continued at Kaleyra, where he served as Chief Business Officer from October 2021 to October 2023. During this period, he also contributed to the broader industry by serving as a Board Member of the Mobile Ecosystem Forum and as a Member of the Board of Advisors at Avanseus and Signal Partners.
Current Roles at Tata Communications and Kaleyra Group
In October 2023, Mauro took on dual roles at Tata Communications and Kaleyra Group following Tata Communications' acquisition of Kaleyra. As Vice President of the Customer Interactions Suite at Tata Communications and CEO of Kaleyra Group, he now oversees the integration of Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) and Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) portfolios. This role emphasizes his strategic leadership and capability to manage global business operations.
