Mikael Dolsten

Mikael Dolsten is a prominent figure in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as the Chief Scientific Officer and President of Worldwide Research, Development, and Medical at Pfizer, Inc. Educational Background 

Dolsten's educational journey began at Lund University, where he earned an MD and a PhD. His studies focused on medicine, immunology, and oncology. Between 1979 and 1988, he not only pursued his degrees but also took on various academic roles. During his early years, he taught Microbiology and Anatomy and completed post-graduate studies in Virology and Cell Biology at the Weizmann Institute. Additionally, he worked as a Resident Physician at Lund University Hospital. 

Professional Career 

Dolsten's professional career is marked by a series of high-profile roles in leading pharmaceutical companies. At Pfizer, he oversees a global team of over 8,000 scientists. Under his leadership, Pfizer has achieved around 20 drug approvals, with many being New Medical Entities (NMEs). Before his time at Pfizer, Dolsten held significant positions at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, OrbiMed Advisors, Boehringer Ingelheim, AstraZeneca, and Pharmacia & Upjohn.
