Early Career at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP
 

Peter's career is marked by a series of significant roles at some of the most renowned financial institutions. He began his professional journey at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, working as an Associate in the Corporate Department from 1990 to 1992.

 
Transition to Goldman Sachs
 

He then moved to Goldman Sachs, where he served as an Associate in Financial Institutions M&A for a year.

 
Decade at Lazard
 

A significant portion of Peter's career was shaped during his time at Lazard, a global financial advisory and asset management firm. Starting as an Associate and eventually becoming a Managing Director, he spent over a decade, from 1995 to 2006, advising financial institutions on mergers and acquisitions. His role at Lazard was crucial in honing his skills in financial advisement and strategic transactions.

 
Roles at Deutsche Bank
 

Peter's expertise and leadership capabilities led him to Deutsche Bank, where he took on several senior roles.

  • From 2006 to 2008, he served as the Head of Insurance for the Americas
  • Later as the Co-Head of Financial Institutions for the Americas from 2008 to 2010
His tenure at Deutsche Bank was marked by his strategic oversight and ability to manage complex financial sectors.

 
Joining Citi
 

In 2010, Peter joined Citi, where his impact has been substantial. Initially serving as the Global Head of the Financial Institutions Group, he helped Citi achieve a top-ranking position in the sector. He then advanced to become the CEO of Citi Asia Pacific, where he spent four years expanding the firm's institutional and wealth management businesses. Under his leadership, Citi significantly enhanced its digital services and streamlined operations by divesting consumer banking in nine markets.

 
Current Role at Citi
 

Currently, Peter serves as the Interim Head of Banking and Chairman of Banking at Citi.

  • In this role, he is responsible for overseeing corporate, commercial, and investment banking activities across nearly 100 markets
  • He is also a member of Citi's Executive Management Team and the Board of Citi Foundation, reflecting his integral role in the organization
