Ravi's professional career kicked off at Citi, where he held various roles in Global Equities Technology from 1994 to 2004. His expertise in trading technology and market structures saw him climb the ranks quickly. He went on to serve as the Director and US Head of Equities Technology at Citi, a role he held from January 2005 to August 2006.

His leadership skills and deep understanding of technology led to more prominent positions at Citi, including Managing Director roles focusing on trading technology and equities. From 2006 to 2012, Ravi served as the Global Head of Equities Trading Technology, Global Co-Head of Equities and Prime Finance Technology, Global Head of Equities Technology, and finally, Global Head of Markets Operations Technology.
