Sean O'Connor is a distinguished figure in the financial services industry, known for his extensive experience and notable achievements. He earned a Bachelor's degree with Honors in Accounting and Business/Management from the University of Cape Town in 1984. Early Career
 

O'Connor's career started at Arthur Andersen & Co. as an Auditor, based in Johannesburg, South Africa, from January 1986 to June 1988. Following this, he took a year's break for national service in South Africa. After his service, he joined Standard Bank Group as an Investment Banking Associate in Johannesburg from June 1988 to December 1991. His potential quickly became evident, and he advanced to the role of Director Investment Banking at Standard Bank London Holdings Limited, where he worked from January 1992 to June 1994.

Sean O'Connor's career momentum continued as he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Standard Bank Group in New York, a role he held from June 1994 to June 2002. After an impressive tenure, O'Connor ventured into entrepreneurship by founding StoneX in 2003. As the CEO, he transformed StoneX from a small firm with limited capital and employees into a publicly traded enterprise on NASDAQ (ticker: SNEX), now employing over 3,500 professionals and serving a vast array of clients across the globe.
