Education and Early Career

 

Stefano Curti is a seasoned executive with a distinguished career spanning over 25 years in the personal care, beauty, and over-the-counter (OTC) product industries. His journey in education began at Luiss Guido Carli University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree with a double major in Marketing and Finance. He attended the university from 1989 to 1993, laying a solid foundation for his future endeavors in the business world.

 

Professional Milestones

 

Throughout his career, Stefano has accumulated extensive experience and achieved remarkable milestones. He started at Johnson & Johnson in Rome, Italy, where he progressed through various roles from Assistant to Senior Brand Manager between 1990 and 1998. He was pivotal in increasing Johnson's Adult sales by 50% within two years. This success marked the beginning of a long and prosperous career.

 

In 1998, Stefano took on the role of Franchise Manager for Johnson & Johnson in EAME (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa), based in London. Over the next decade, he climbed the ranks within the company, managing innovation, advertising, and the rollout of adult skincare brands across Europe and expanding Neutrogena's footprint in the region. His leadership was instrumental in the acquisition and integration of Coloplast Consumer A/S.

 

Stefano continued to rise within Johnson & Johnson, eventually becoming the Managing Director for Northern Europe, leading the Scandinavian market and healthcare divisions. By 2006, he was the General Manager for Neutrogena in Los Angeles, overseeing US P&L and driving global product innovation.

 

Leadership at Johnson & Johnson

 

His career took a significant leap in 2009 when he became the President of J&J USA, managing $1.4 billion in revenues. Soon after, he was promoted to Global President of J&J Beauty & Baby Divisions, where he managed a portfolio with revenues of $6.5 billion and led global brands like Johnson’s, Neutrogena, and Aveeno.

 

Venturing Beyond Johnson & Johnson

 

Stefano's expertise and leadership extended beyond Johnson & Johnson. In 2013, he transitioned to the venture capital space as President & CEO with ExploraMed, New Enterprise Associates (NEA), focusing on consumer wellness. He led Genomma Lab's OTC, beauty, and personal care divisions across Latin America from 2015 to 2018, and subsequently served as Global President and Board Member at Markwins Beauty Brands Global in Los Angeles.

 

Current Role and Recognition

 

In December 2020, Stefano took on his current role as Chief Brands Officer at Coty in New York, overseeing brand management for Coty Consumer Beauty. His influence in the industry has been recognized by Forbes, naming him one of the world's most influential Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs).

 

Academic Contributions and Advisory Roles

 

Apart from his professional roles, Stefano is also a respected lecturer at prestigious academic institutions such as NYU Stern Business School, FIT, Stanford, and Michigan Ross School of Business. He has shared his extensive knowledge and insights with students and professionals alike. Additionally, he serves on various industry-related boards and provides senior advisory services to private equity and venture capital firms.
