In 2011, he was appointed as the Commissioner of Insurance for the State of Connecticut, a position he held until December 2014. His tenure was noted for his regulatory oversight and contribution to insurance laws and policies. Following this, Leonardi served as a Senior Advisor at Evercore’s Investment Advisory business from January 2015 to October 2017, where he provided strategic advice across multiple regions including Hartford, New York City, and London.
Leonardi then took on the role of Executive Vice President and Vice Chair of AIG Life Holdings Inc. (now Corebridge Financial) from November 2017 to May 2020. At AIG, he played a pivotal role in overseeing teams responsible for global public policy, government affairs, corporate communications, sustainability, and corporate citizenship.
