Thomas began his professional career as an Associate at Proskauer Rose LLP, an international law firm known for its wide range of legal services. He worked there from September 1997 to December 2001.

ImClone Systems
 
In December 2001, he transitioned to the pharmaceutical industry by joining ImClone Systems as Senior Director Legal. At ImClone Systems, he contributed to the development of biologic monoclonal antibodies for cancer treatment until April 2006.

Celgene Pharma
 
His journey in the pharmaceutical sector continued with Celgene Pharma, where he held multiple roles over the years.
